Board Notes – December 18, 2007
Jim Preziosi, Board Auditor, presented information on the 2006-07 school year audit. There were no findings or recommendations; all accounts were found to be in good order. The audit report was approved by the board.
Transportation jointure contracts were approved with Hammonton Board of Education to transport four special education students to out-of-district programs, at a cost of $63,208 for the current year.
The Folsom School Model Written Indoor Air Quality Program was approved.
Professional development workshops for various staff members were approved.
Field trips for grade 6 (Holocaust Museum) and the basketball team (games) were approved.
The board discussed purchase of a Folsom Falcons mascot uniform, with funding through various school support groups. Mascot tryouts for grade 8 students will be held in early January.
The board discussed participation of grade 6 in a research program involving mathematics instruction.
The board discussed the purchase of aluminum fencing for the habitat area in the courtyard.
Mrs. Esposito was approved as mentor for Ms. Amanda Cirillo, kindergarten substitute.
The board approved maternity leaves for Mrs. Hick and Mrs. Passalaqua, as per their written requests, and advertising for the openings in grade 6 (substitute teacher) and grade 1 (substitute aide).
The board approved policies from the 1000 series for first reading.
The board discussed the problem of unsupervised students at the afternoon/evening sports events. It was determined that students younger than fifth grade must be accompanied by an adult.
