Board Notes – September 25, 2007
Facilities use applications were approved for: Folsom Athletic Association; Folsom Home and School Association; Folsom Municipal Drug Alliance; and 8th Grade Parents Committee.
Tuition contracts were approved with YALE School East, Mullica Board of Education, and Hammonton Board of Education (regular high school tuition).
Paul’s commodity Hauling, Inc. was approved to store and deliver commodities for our food service department.
Attendance by two board members at the National School Boards Convention was approved.
Attendance at the ACSBA meeting for three board members regarding new legislation was approved.
Installation of a new septic system was discussed.
Danielle Small was approved as a substitute teacher.
The following personnel were approved as support staff substitutes: Frances DeSordi, Viola Beebee, Emma Caruso, Mary Ann Iulucci, and Randi Carter.
Detention monitors and sports/club advisors were approved.
The board accepted Anne Marie Cooker’s letter of resignation, effective October 31.
Travel expenditures were approved for staff members to attend state trainings and professional development workshops.
Policy 3242.1, Wellness/Nutrition, was approved through final reading.
Policy 5131.7, Weapons and Dangerous Instruments, was approved for first reading.
IDEIA funds in the amount of $95,940 (Basic) and $4,353 (Preschool) were accepted.
A staff member’s child was approved for placement in kindergarten as per policy.
Superintendent’s goals and objectives for the current year were approved.
Field trips to Duffield’s Farm (PreK) and Cape May Zoo (Kindergarten) were approved.
Scott Wheeler and Ron Losse were approved as Residency Investigators for the current year.
Bus routes and bus procedures were discussed in committee. The committee affirmed that routes have addressed time and safety concerns to the extent possible at this time. They also confirmed that students are assigned seats on one route for morning, and one for afternoon. Requests to ride another bus cannot be honored due to the length of current routes and large number of students assigned to each bus.
