Baldermann, Rita Howell, Joanne Wiessner, Janet Worrell,

Chille.
The meeting was called to order at 7:09 PM.
Marion
motioned to approve the minutes from the March 5, 2007
meeting and Trish seconded the motion.
Financial
Report:
MaryBeth
reviewed the financial status of the Foundation. Ms.
Elizabeth Maxwell donated $5,000 to the Foundation. She
was recognized as the 2006-07 True Friend of Education
recipient. Since March 2007, the Foundation has donated
$200 to the Folsom BOE for a defibrillator. The
Foundation also paid for Mr. Losse’s work during the
Comedy Night. The Foundation also paid for 2 class trips
and some bus fees. To date, the Total Commerce Funds
available are $3,558.47. The Bank of America (MBNA) funds
are $24,213.65 and the Folsom Hunting and Fishing
Scholarship amount is $3,692.66. Members discussed the
purpose of the Foundation and if the Foundation should
donate to other foundations and/or scholarships. A $50
donation was given to the Folsom Elementary School in
memory of Alexa Quinto. Because the check was written to
the school district, it will be given to the Folsom BOE.
Rita motioned to approve the financial report and Lou
seconded the motion.
Committee
Reports:
Fundraising:
There was a motion by Joanne to hold Comedy Night next year
and to form a committee in September to plan the event.
Mary Beth seconded the motion. The Comedy Night Committee
will decide in September if Comedy Blast or another
company such as the Comedy Hypnosis Act will be used.
Leftover soda from the Comedy Night was donated to the
last School Dance and to the Teacher’s Lounge.
Another fundraising suggestion was to hold Gift Card sales
during the holidays. The premise is individuals can buy
gift cards and a certain percentage of the cost will be
given to the Foundation. Trish will look into “GL Script”
for more information. If we run the program next year, it
was suggested to only offer it to staff until we are
comfortable organizing the program.
Teacher Grants:
The Foundation sponsored the 5th Grade Duck Boat
ride in Philadelphia in May and the 2nd Grade
Trip to the Atlantic City Aquarium in June. Ms. DeSordi
sent a letter requesting assistance in funding Field Day
events on June 13, 2007. Janet made a motion to donate
$500 to Ms. DeSordi for Field Day Supplies. Marion
seconded the motion.
Membership:
The Foundation will continue to recruit more additional
members. The meeting dates are posted on the website and
in the main office. Meetings will continue to be listed
on the monthly calendar that is sent home with students.
Community Relations:
The Foundation sponsored an advertisement in support of the
school budget which passed 2 to 1. To date, no bill has
been received. A thank you was emailed to Danyele from
Skip DeStefano, a Folsom Board of Education member.
Old
Business:
Danyele
further explored the possibility of a purchasing a
baseball sign for the baseball field. An application will
need to be submitted to the Folsom Athletic Association by
March for the sign. Marion motioned the purchasing of a
4x8 sign for the initial cost of $300 and an annual cost
of $125. Joanne seconded the motion. The design with
the Foundation logo will be decided in September.
The
Foundation in consultation with Mrs. Lewis, Folsom Art
Teacher, would like to sponsor a logo design contest for
students in Grades 4-8 next Fall. The criteria will be
decided in September.
As stated
in the financial report, the Foundation donated $200 to
assist the school in purchasing a defibrillator. The
school would like to raise funds for a second one. A
decision about the Foundation donation will be made in
September.
With the
help of Rita, Wal-Mart donated $500 to the Foundation.
