New Jersey Student Learning Assessments ( NJSLA) Introduction
During the school year, students in Grades 3 through 11 will take the a computer-based NJSLA state assessments. These online assessments include tools built into the computer platform for all students and a number of accessibility features that can be provided for individual students based on need. These tools and features-which children typically use in the classroom and daily life-are intended to expand access for them to show what they know and are able to do.
In addition, the NJSLA assessments include accommodations that students with disabilities, English learners and English learners with disabilities may need. These will reduce barriers for students and help them participate equitably in the assessments.Folsom students in Grades 3 through 8 take the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA) for English Language Arts & Literacy and Mathematics (NJSLA-ELA/M).
Additionally Folsom students in Grades 5 & 8 take the Science (NJSLA-S) at a later date.
